What is a "Library of Things"?
The Library of Things is a growing collection of non-traditional library items that may be reserved and checked out from the
New Berlin Public Library (and other Cafe libraries too!)
The collection is a natural evolution of the library’s lending model and an extension of learning opportunities to enjoy inside and outside of the Library.
The Library of Things aims to reduce barriers for entrepreneurs, creatives, and lifelong learners by providing access to quality equipment.

How to Checkout:

The Library of Things collection is searchable using the term "library of things" in the catalog.

To check out "things," cardholders must have an active and up-to-date card in the system with no outstanding fees.

A signed Library of Things waiver, available upon check-out, is required for most items.

Note: We ask that you sign this waiver once a year, which will cover all of your Library of Things check-outs. Ask at the desk for more details!

Backyard Fun: 7 day checkout; waiver required; ask at the front desk for items.
Board Games: 14 day checkout; no waiver required; available on the 1st floor, near media collection.
Home & Entertainment: 7 day checkout; waiver required; available throughout the Library, ask at the front desk.
Instruments: 14 day checkout; no waiver required; available on the 2nd floor, near the music collection.
Party: 7 day checkout; waiver required; ask at the front desk for items.
Recreation: 7 day checkout; waiver required; items available at the front desk.
STEM Kits: 3 week checkout; no waiver required; available in the Youth Services Department.
