Youth Services Non-Fiction Book Challenge!

At the New Berlin Public Library, we celebrate those who want to learn, a community that continues to prosper with inquisitive imaginations, and children who have questions about real life.
The Youth Services non-fiction section is organized using the Dewey Decimal System. Each Dewey Decimal category is equal to one Beanstack badge. For each category, read two books and tell us about one of the books to earn a badge. When all 15 badges have been earned, you have successfully completed our Youth Services Non-fiction Challenge! Come to the Youth Services Department to choose a prize.

This challenge encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before kindergarten. Once of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time sharing books every day. Read together! Log the books you read and every 100 books read, you'll earn a badge. Stop in the library and let us know so we can add your child's name to our special wall. After reading 1000 books, your child will receive a prize book!

Our Picture Book Challenge allows you to explore our difference picture book genre "neighborhoods," while also completing a few early literacy activities along the way! For each neighborhood, read 5 books and complete 2 early literacy activities to earn badges!

Here is a QR code to scan with your phone's camera to connect with our Beanstack site! If you're new to Beanstack you can sign up from here. Already a Beanstack user? Log in from this page.
