  • The Workforce Development System
    Developed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the Workforce Development System has a page dedicated to helping job seekers. It includes a list of upcoming local job fairs, in-person and remote learning opportunities, and more. Click here to access the webpage.

Job Listings

  • Newspapers
    The library subscribes to several local newspapers which are available for you to browse in the library. The employment sections remain with their edition, which are kept on the newspaper shelves for the month.

  • Government Jobs
    Civil service announcements for the State of Wisconsin and for the Federal Government are available online.

  • Online Job Postings
    The following websites are a great place to start searching online for a job.

    The library has books, DVDs, and reference materials on various career fields, job hunting best practices, and more. If you need help finding information, call 262-754-1815 or ask one of our friendly librarians for assistance.

  • Occupational Outlook Handbook
    This online database is a great resource for finding industry-specific information such as median income, job growth, career outlook, and much more. Click here to access this resource.

  • Library Materials
    Our job hunting materials are under the call number 650.14 in the Non-Fiction collection, and include resume preparation, cover letters, employment interviews, and general job hunting tactics and strategies.

  • Cypress Resume
    This online resume builder is provided for free through the Bridges Library System. Click here to access this resource.

Skills, Personal Education, & Employment Tests

  • Learning Express
    This online resource includes interactive courses on Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; practices tests for the ACT or SAT; as well as various industry-specific preparation tools. Free with your library card! Click here to access this resource.

  • Gale Courses
    Gale Courses provides over 360 interactive, instructor-led courses in a variety of topics. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month. Free with your library card! Click here to access this resource.

  • Employment Tests
    The library has a wide selection of civil service test study guides as well as study guides for vocational and general aptitude tests. Most of these books are in high demand. Visit or call the Adult Services Reference Desk at 262-754-1815 to get help placing holds on materials that are not available.

Company Information

  • Business Directories
    The Library has Reference copies of the Wisconsin Business Service Directory (published by Reference USA), Wisconsin Business Directory, and Wisconsin Manufacturing Directory. These are available upstairs behind the Reference Desk.

  • Value Line
    Value Line gives more in-depth information, such as company history and financial statistics. Ask for this at the Reference Desk.

  • Business & Consumer Information Databases
    The following databases are available to you for free through the Bridges Library System.
